Helena Township Board Meeting April 8th, 2021
Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Butch Peeples, David Peterson, Cathy Rice, Bonnie Robbins and Butch Bartz. Motion by Robbins to approve the agenda and supported by Bartz and approved. Motion by Robbins to approve the minutes and supported by Bartz and approved.

Public Comment: Laura Westerman made comments.
Treasurer’s Report: beginning balance March 1st, 2021 is $636,600.18
Total receipts: $11,302.63 and total disbursements: $36,219.49
Ending balance as of 03/31/2021 is $611,683.32
Treasurer’s report not ready because bank statement not available yet.
Presentation of Bills: March 1-31: $25,611.76, April 1-8th; $1,944.05
Speakers: None
Communications: Reviewed proposed consumer fireworks ordinance and on second page section 4: (C) June 29 to (change July4 to) July 5 until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days and delete line (D). Robbins made the motion to accept changes with support by Bartz and motion carried.
Zoning: Logee’s report reviewed.
Planning Commission: No meeting.
Parks & Rec: Motion by Robbins for a MOU with Alden Volunteers and artists for hold harmless and at will contract and supported by Peeples and motion carried. Write and combine policies for memorial donations.
Roads: No update
Old Business: HEPA filter system in place
New Business: Peterson made the motion to approve proposal from Northern Michigan Glass Co. to replace rear doors of community center with push button ADA doors for $8,285.00 and supported by Robbins and motion carried.
Planning Commission meeting May 11th to discuss language for food trucks ordinance and public hearing for recommendation for special use permit for home use food truck.
Public hearing May 13th for amending Alden Safe Harbor Mooring ordinance to include language disallowing recreational commercial use of harbor as well as combined length of vehicles and trailers.

Robbins made the motion to pay the bills and supported by Bartz and approved.
