Helena Township Board Meeting – 04/12/2018
Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Supervisor Rick Teague. Present: Rick Teague, David Peterson, Catherine Rice, Bonnie Robbins, and Butch Bartz. Motion to approve agenda by Bartz w/support by Robbins and motion carried.

Public Comment: Guy Molby commented.
Approval of minutes: Motion by Robbins w/support by Teague and motion carried.
Treasurer’s report: Beginning balance as of March 1, 2018: $602,940.21
Receipts: $5,101.09 Dispersed: $24,501.66 Ending balance: $583,539.64
Motion to approve treasurer’s report by Teague w/support by Robbins and motion carried.
Presentation of Bills: March. 1st-31st; $12,440.06 and April 1st-12th; $3,701.13
Speakers: Patty Niepoth, register of deeds visited board to update office changes.
Communications: None
Zoning: Guy Molby gave zoning report for March.
Planning Commission: Robbins reporterd there is training on short term rentals in Traverse City on May 16th, 2018 at a cost of $40.00 per person. Four people expected to go. Reviewing zoning ordinance revisions. Received Tip of the Mitt watershed council surveys. Special use permit for electric sign at DeWitt Marine.
Ambulance Authority: New director to be interviewed.
Parks: Ruth Smith reported the five-year plan was sent to all board members by email. The MOU was completed for the Coy Mtn. trail project.
Roads: No update

New Business: Peterson reviewed proposal from North Country Power generation for a 36 KW Generac backup generator for the community center and an annual service agreement Bartz made the motion to accept the proposal for the backup generator no to exceed $19,000.00 with the annual service contract of $225.00 with support by Robbins and the motion carried.
Teague read the resolution of the waiver of interest/penalty associated with not filed/late filed PTA (property transfer affidavit) 2766 is necessary. Resolution 04122018 offed by Robbins and seconded by Rice. Roll call vote resulted in five aye votes and no nay votes. Resolution adopted by the Helena Township Board.
Announcements: CPR/AED class scheduled for Tuesday, April 17th starting at 9:00 AM at the Helena Township Community Center.
