Helena Township Planning Commission
January 6, 2016
Gurr called meeting to order at 7:20 pm
Opened with Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call: Present: Jim Gurr Bonnie Robbins
Ken Renaud Chris Dewald
Absent: Mike Robinson Rodger Dewey

Township officials present: Molby
Approval of Agenda: One change: Extend Public Hearing to next meeting. Motion: Robbins, 2nd: Renaud. Carried
Statement of Conflict of Interest: None
Approval of Minutes: Motion: Renaud, 2nd Dewald. Carried
Public Comment: 1 present. Resident will offer written input on sign regulation language at the public hearing next month to be included in the record.
Communications: None
Old Business:
Master Plan Review: Gurr shared information and suggestions from the county planning commission meeting. Language identifying empowering act and grammar corrections. This will be incorporated into the document. Public Hearing will be opened at February meeting to allow surrounding township time to respond.
Future Land Use Map will be the current zoning ordinance map. It will be labeled and attached to the Master Plan document on the website.

Molby submitted an annual report for 2015.
Molby mentioned changes in sign regulation from the federal courts. Planning commission will research and review our regulations as part of the zoning ordinance review.
