Gurr called meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.
Opened with Pledge of Allegiance.

Approval of Minutes: Addition: at end of public hearing add with continuation at October meeting if needed. Motion: Johnson, 2nd Robbins. Carried
Public Comment: 3 present. Two present are interested in serving on the commission. Bob Johnson stated he would be going away more and would like to resign after the November meeting. Robbins will notify Supervisor Teague so new members can be appointed.

Old Business:
Review of zoning language changes. Discussion of private road language. Consensus to continue with language as discussed at public hearing
Based on public hearing comments and commission review, the Planning Commission recommends the changes discussed and defined for the Helena Township Zoning Ordinance of 2017. Motion: Johnson, 2nd by Robbins. 4 yes, 1 abstain.
Discussion of multiple docks used by developments sharing lakefront. Consensus to discuss this further at a future meeting.
Public Comment: Dewald questioned legality of meeting when it had not been posted. Gurr questioned if the old posting of Public Hearing could extend to the next meeting without posting. Robbins stated any additional comments could be recorded with minutes from this meeting and not require public hearing as long as there was no new language (such as the boat docks) suggested for the ordinance. The public hearing posting requirement has been met for this review.
Note: (post meeting) Clarification from Open Meetings Act: A rescheduling of date or change of time for a regular meeting requires a special posting. Special meetings require a public posting. Neither require a posting in the newspaper. Regular meetings require one posting in local publication in December of each year. Our schedule is posted on the bulletin board by the library.
