Draft Helena Township Board Meeting August 13th, 2020
Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Rick Teague, David Peterson, Bonnie Robbins, Cathy Rice and Butch Bartz. Motion by Robbins to approve the agenda and supported by Bartz and approved. Motion by Robbins to approve the minutes and supported by Bartz and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: beginning balance July 1st, 2020 is $579,481.41
Total receipts: $6,807.51 and total disbursements: $33,717.00
Ending balance as of 07/31/2020 is $552,571.92
Motion to approve the treasurer’s report by Teague and supported by Robbins and approved. Presentation of Bills: July 1-31: $21,851.32 and August 1-13th: $11,624.96

Communications: Request to reopen community center for pickleball.
Complaint about emptying trash containers at the safe harbor.
McPherson road complaint.
Zoning: Reviewed zoning report for July, 2020.
Planning Commission: Robbins reported PC finishing up bullet points. Change meeting time to first Thursday in September. Possible public hearing in October.
Ambulance Authority: No update.
Parks: Ruth Smith reported redesigned trail map for kiosk at Coy Mtn. Preserve. Reviewed parking at Valleau Landing. Motion by Rice to have the Township pay not to exceed $673.20 for the striping of parking spots at Valleau Landing and supported by Robbins and motion carried.
Steve Dell commented on the guidelines from the Alden Racquet Sports Committee that have been proposed for reopening pickleball at the community center. Discussion and comments by the board members and the public. Robbins made the motion to table the request to reopen the community center for pickleball until the township board meeting in September and supported by Bartz and motion carried.
Roads: Brine applied on Cemetery Road and paid for by the Township. Discussed request for resurfacing Alden Meadows. Butch bartz reported cost for crack/seal is $9000.00 and chip/seal is $50,000.00.
