Helena Township Board Meeting January 13th, 2022
Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Butch Peeples, David Peterson, Bonnie Robbins, and Butch Bartz. Cathy Rice absent. Motion by Robbins to approve the agenda and supported by Bartz and approved. Motion by Bartz to approve the December’s meeting minutes and supported by Robbins and approved.

Public Comment: Sheriff Dan Bean reviewed report for 2021 compared to 2020
Treasurer’s Report: beginning balance December 1st, 2021 is $540,273.83
Total receipts: $141,650.14and total disbursements: $57,894.58
Ending balance December 31; 2021 is $624,029.39
Motion to approve the treasurer’s report by Robbins and supported by Bartz and approved.
Presentation of Bills: December 1-31: $51,186.38, January 1-13th; $3,604.01
Fire Chief/Sheriff Report: Paul Fabianoreviewed report for STLFD
Speakers: None
Communications: Reviewed sheriff’s report.
Zoning: Public hearing to be held Jan. 14th. ZBZ meeting for variance request, Green Street replace existing under size structure
Planning Commission: Meeting cancelled until February 8th, 2022.
Parks & Rec: Peeples appointed Brian Apley to Parks & Rec committee
Roads: Agreement from late 1800’s releases Antrim County from maintaining First Street.
Old Business: Snow removal bid from Willow Ridge Property Maintenance reviewed; Robbins made the motion to accept this bid with support by Bartz and motion carried.
New Business: Budget meeting June 15th, 2022 to be held in government room, Helena Township community center and posted 15 days before.

Additional Public Comment: Jim Gurr commented.
Robbins made the motion to pay the bills and supported by Bartz and approved.
