Helena Township Board Meeting

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supervisor Rick Teague. Present: Catherine Rice, Rick Teague, Bonnie Robbins, and David Peterson. Butch Bartz was absent. Motion to approve agenda by Rice; supported by Robbins

Approval of Minutes: Motion by Robbins, supported by Teague and motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Beginning balance Nov.1, 2016: $395,132.34
Receipts: $25,851.13
Disbursed: $77,161.46

Motion to approve Treasurer’s report by Teague, supported by Robbins and motion carried.
Presentation of Bills: November 1-30: $63,481.72 and December 1-8th; $6,603.06

Zoning: No report available.
Planning Commission: Robbins reported the Planning Commission did not meet in December and that December 17th the new changes to the zoning ordinance will take effect.
Ambulance Authority: Forest Home Twp. agreed to sponsor grant application for protective clothing for EMS personnel.
Parks & Rec: No update – meeting cancelled for November and December.
Roads – no update
Old Business: None
New Business: Rice made the motion to increase the per diem for members of the board of appeals and the planning commission from $25 to $30 and the chair and recording secretary from $30 to $35 with support by Teague and the motion carried. Rice read the salary resolution/amendment/addendum 2016/2017 budget – resolution 120816. Rice made the motion to accept the salary resolution/amendment/addendum 2016/2017 budget with support by Teague. Roll call vote; four yes and one absent. Motion passed.
Peterson reviewed the township insurance coverage and four options for 2017. Peterson made the motion to accept the binding insurance coverage from Burnham and Flower for 2017 with no options for $23,890.00 with support by Teague and the motion carried.
