Draft Helena Township Board Meeting September 9th, 2021
Meeting called to order at 7:01 PM. Members present were Butch Peeples, David Peterson, Bonnie Robbins, Butch Bartz and Cathy Rice absent.. Motion by Robbins to approve the agenda and supported by Bartz and approved. Motion by Robbins to approve the August’s meeting minutes and supported by Bartz and approved. Motion by Robbins to approve August 19th, special meeting minutes with second by Bartz and motion carried.

Public Comment: Resident on McPherson Road (Southern section unpaved) informed board of sediment in their yard after recent rains and the need for maintenance of the road and ditch .
Bartz to discuss with Burt Thompson; Antrim County Road manager.
Treasurer’s Report: beginning balance August 1st, 2021 is $590,961.37
Total receipts: $24,451.34 and total disbursements: $45,957.18
Ending balance August 31; 2021 is $569,455.53
Motion to approve the treasurer’s report by Robbins and supported by Bartz and approved.
Presentation of Bills: August 1-31: $39,603.97, September 1-9th; $4,009.72
Fire Chief/Sheriff Report: Paul Fabiano gave report for STLFD
Speakers: None
Communications: Reviewed sheriff’s report.
Zoning: Logee’s report reviewed.
Planning Commission: Meeting scheduled for September 14th.
Parks & Rec: Ruth Smith reported P&R committee working on inventory of parks equipment, ball park improvements and erosion at ball park.
Roads: Bartz to meet with Burt Thompson to discuss McPherson road maintenance
Old Business: Signs picked up and some to be installed this year.
New Business: None

Additional Public Comment: William Wedemeyer informed board that minutes from July 8th board meeting need to be amended to show it was the May, 2021 election not the November, 2020 election that he referenced during his public comment.
Jim Gurr commented.
Robbins made the motion to pay the bills and supported by Bartz and approved.
