March 7, 2019
Meeting called to order by Gurr at 3:07 p.m.
Opened with Pledge of Allegiance.

Communications: Request from Teague will be discussed under New Business.

Discussion of ordinance language needed for new recreational marijuana law. Teague asked the commission to make a recommendation to the board concerning whether or not to allow establishments to sell marijuana in Helena Township. Gurr stated this is a policing ordinance which would be addressed by the Board of Trustees and not in the ordinance. The recommendation of the planning commission is to prohibit this activity in Helena Township. Consensus that those using for medical purpose have access to marijuana through approved providers. Prohibiting recreational use will not affect their use and availability of the product. Robbins and Gurr will present this recommendation at next Thursday’s board meeting.
Gurr reported to Logee concerns from the Zoning Board of Appeals. Annual meeting will be in April. Members would like to have additional info included when zoning permit application is sent for review. Gurr outlined those items. Logee will review and revise the paperwork to provide the requested information.
Old Business: Logee asked that we add discussion of parking space requirements for businesses in commercial and village districts to points of discussion.
