06/21/2023 HELENA TOWNSHIP ANNUAL BUDGET HEARING 2023-2024
Meeting called to order at 10:02 AM by Supervisor Peeples.
Pledge of Alligiance.
Reviewed South Torch Lake Fire District budget for July, 2023 through June, 2024 presented by Paul Fabiano. Discussion followed. Several questions identified: who owns the fire department building, who is responsible for the maintenance of the building, who is responsible for collecting the millage, who approves the STLFD annual budget, who is responsible for raising or lowering the millage amount.
Approval of the STLFD budget was tabled until questions can be answered by the township lawyer.
The Helena Township Treasurer, Cathy Rice, presented the proposed 2023-2024 budget.
Robbins made the motion to approve salary increases by 6.2% resolutions for employees with second by Bartz and motion carried. Roll call vote was yes for each board member.
