Helena Township Board April 11, 2019 Minutes
Meeting called to order at 7 pm. Members present were Rick Teague, David Peterson, Cathy Rice, Butch Bartz and Bonnie Robbins absent.
Motion by Bartz to approve the agenda and supported by Rice and approved.
Motion by Rice to approve the minutes and supported by Teague and approved.
Public Comment: None
Treasurer’s report; beginning balance March 1, 2019 is $584,171.95
Total receipts: $13,824.01 and total disbursements: $120,051.03
Ending balance as of 03/31/2019 is $477,944.93
Motion to approve the treasurer’s report by Teague with support by Bartz and approved.
Presentation of Bills: March 1-31: $108,276.90 and April 1-11; $12,336.35
Speakers: None
Communications: None
Zoning: Zoning report reviewed.
Planning Commission: No quorum. ZBA held annual meeting and membership remains the same for 2019.
Ambulance Authority: No update.
Parks: Ruth Smith reported on meeting and submitted estimate for tree removal at Coy Mtn. Teague made the motion to accept the Sunset Tree Removal, LLC estimate for $1200.00 with support by Rice and motion carried.
Roads: No update.
Old Business: None
New Business: Teague reviewed the prohibition of recreational marihuana establishments ordinance. Teague made the motion for Helena Township to adopt the prohibition of recreational marihuana establishments ordinance with support by Bartz. Roll call vote – four yes votes and one absent. Ordinance to take effect 30 days after publication in the newspaper.

Additional Public Comment: Ruth Smith and Jim Gurr commented.
Teague made the motion to pay the bills with support by Bartz and the motion carried.
