Helena Township Board Meeting – 10/12/2017
Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supervisor Rick Teague. Present: Rick Teague, David Peterson, Butch Bartz, Catherine Rice and Bonnie Robbins. Motion to approve agenda by Robbins supported by Bartz and motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: Motion by Robbins and supported by Bartz and motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Beginning balance as of September 30th, 2017: $374,661.67
Receipts: $1,768.04
Disbursed: $35,379.60
Ending Balance: $341,050.11 as of 09/30/2017
Motion to approve Treasurer’s report by Teague, supported by Robbins and motion carried.
Presentation of Bills: September 1-30th: $24,319.97 and October1-12th; $2,384.32.
Speakers: None
Communications: Teague announced MTA meeting 10/26/2017 at Central Lake Twp. Hall at 7:30 PM.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Zoning: Molby gave zoning report and zoning review from 2005 to 2016.
Planning Commission: Robbins presented changes to the Shoreline Greenbelt Protection Buffer – Section 5.02.02 recommended by the Planning Commission for approval with change to section 1.03 definition and PUD removed from the list of districts Section 4.01.01 Districts. Rice made the motion to approve the changes with support by Teague and the motion carried. Side yard setbacks in commercial districts to be discussed.
Ambulance Authority: No update.
Parks & Rec: Ruth Smith reported P&R working on the five year plan. Pickelball lines painted on second tennis court. Juniper Garden Club requests permission to place sculpture statue on cement base with a plaque.
Laura Westerman to be appointed to Parks & Rec Committee. Motion by Teague to appoint Laura Westerman to P&R Committee and supported by Robbins and the motion carried.
