Opened with Pledge of Allegiance.

Regular meeting closed at 7:04 p.m. Public Hearing for Sale of Fireworks permit request presented by Molby.
23 mailings, 9 returned. 4 not in favor, 4 no preference, 1 in favor.
Discussion with applicant about permits required. Applicant has sale site in Kalkaska and has applied for and met the required standards for operating a fireworks sale . Discussion of what would be required to move the fireworks to a barge next year. This is being researched and may be feasible. Cost and time are prohibitive for this year. Code prohibits setting off fireworks within 300 of the sale site.
Discussion among planning commission members of permitted uses within the commercial district of Helena Township. It was determined by the members the use would be a permitted use and the zoning administrator should issue the permit.

It was also determined the special use permit fee should be refunded.
