July 6, 2023
Meeting called to order by Moglovkin at 5.02 P.M.
Opened with Pledge of Allegiance.

Public Comment: 0 in attendance.
Communications: None. Gurr stated the zoning ordinance language change is on the agenda for the Antrim County Planning Commission next week.
Approval of Minutes: June 1, 2023. As submitted. Motion: Gurr, 2nd Moglovkin. Carried

Old Business:
Language Change Resolution: Special meeting scheduled for July 13, 5:00 PM to adopt resolution. Robbins will post special meeting notice.
Master Plan Survey update: Tabled
Points of Interest for Ordinance review: Schafer offered to arrange boat tours of shoreline so members could see the work being approved by the Soil Erosion officer. Discussion of whether language in the ordinance regulating this is outdated.
Change definition: Shoreline Greenbelt Protection Buffer shall read:
Shoreline Protective Buffer —A strip extending along the shoreline with features which prevent erosion. Motion: Schafer, 2nd Gurr, carried.
Section 5.02.01.D.2 – Replace the word greenbelt with
shoreline protective buffer
Section 5.02.02 — Strike bullet C in first section. Motion: Schafer, 2nd Moglovkin. Carried
Change 2nd section to read:
Land alterations within the shoreline protective buffer are subject to the following conditions:
Change bullet 1 to read:
A site plan that prevents erosion and sediment from entering the lake and an approved permit from the Antrim County Soil Erosion officer shall be presented to the Zoning Administrator prior to commencement of work.
Bullet 2 shall read:
Dimensional and structural conditions are as follows:
1. No permanent roofs or canopies
Motion: Schafer, 2nd Bassil. Carried
Discussion of other language changes recommended by Logee.
Change 4.04.01.I to read:
Property owners with a permanent residence in Helena Township may use that site for recreational vehicles or trailers for camping purposes on a temporary basis, provided such trailer or recreational vehicle is maintained in a sanitary, moveable, and legally registered condition. Such vehicles cannot be used as a rental.
