HELENA TOWNSHIP BOARD
SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the Helena Township Board was held on Thursday, June 15th, 2023 at the Helena Township Community Center.
The meeting was called to order at 10:03 by Supervisor Butch Peeples.
There was no public comment.
Discussion on Helena Township bank accounts with treasurer, Cathy Rice presenting the board with information. The discussion reviewed methods to protect the tax monies collected for the township’s various fund balances. FDIC only protects up to $250,000.00.
The Alden State Bank will pledge a Safe Keeping Bond Certificate to the Township by their Bond Company on any amount over the FDIC guarantee.
Robbins made the motion for a $150,000.00 CD at 5% made up with monies from the general fund of $50,000.00, $75,000.00 from the building fund, and $25,000.00 from the cemetery fund with support by Bartz and motion carried.
No public comment.
Meeting adjourned at 10:13 by the Supervisor.
